Thanks, Mike. It was just nice to have a few minutes of sunlight to shoot in!

Well if i had a choice on that i would rather look out for a 5d mark III the 1D mkIV is more a wildlife/sports body, it's heavy and you will feel that.
Even a 6D would be a ideal partner for the 70D.

This is what I'd recommend, too. Good high ISO performance is what I want in a second camera, because I really feel that is the only area the 70D lets me down. The 6D would be a perfect compliment.

Female Walnut Orb Spider.

She was squatting on a small plastic covered hook on which we used to hang bird feeders...

Unfortunately, as I tried to get closer, my foot caught the foot of the bird table and disturbed her, but she scrambled up her web strands and sat on the angle of the side of the bird table - harder to reach again than even the first, but I could at least move in closer, and with a crop got me the 2nd shot...

F/11, ISO 100, 1/250th, Venus 60mm on the 70D.

Appreciate your efforts Paul. And you generally manually focus right?

With the Venus 60mm lens, there only is manual focus Will.

Snaps from Yesterday morning and afternoon. The bench was too close quarters for my 50mm so I am also looking for a 35mm option like the $92 YN 35 f/1.8 from B&H :-P
Seems a fun option for the money...

few more.

The swan was a simple snap because I was merely visiting 4 know swan nests to show a FB group but I liked her head posture in this one
