So..... I got my Sigma MC-11 adapter today....

So far a complete waste of money....

Neither my 35mm or 150-600 S is completely supported....

The LED on the side is green, saying its "compatible"
But the performance is pathetic, almost as bad as Metabones back in the day with A7R (or A7)
Hunt, hunt, lets hunt so more.

Quick review/points

Only contrast AF
SLOW!
No Phase, whatsoever
AF-S works
AF-C "works" but it takes a while to get AF, and then it looses AF, and tries again
DMF works
AF in video works
NO-LOCK ON AF, can't select it.

SO as of today, these lenses have not received firmware updates to support MC-11
17-70mm F2.8-4 DC MACRO OS HSM C013
18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM C014
24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM A013
35mm F1.4 DG HSM A012 (CANON MOUNT)
120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM S013
150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM S014
150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C015

These lenses have been upgraded
18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM A013
24-35mm F2 DG HSM A015
30mm F1.4 DC HSM A013
20mm F1.4 DG HSM A015
24mm F1.4 DG HSM A015
35mm F1.4 DG HSM A012 (SIGMA MOUNT)
50mm F1.4 DG HSM A014

If you have a lens in the Red field, DO NOT BUY MC-11 yet....

That is disappointing. I hope it improves with firmware if upgrades.

So I just got off the phone with Sigma about my poor performance with MC-11.

What I learned from the Sigma rep is that firmware in the MC-11 came from Sony, MC-11 is a joint venture between Sigma and Sony, that surprised me... So Sigma didn't crack Native lens code, they got it from Sony, not sure if thats true, just something that Sigma rept told me...

Anyway, sigma asked me to reset my camera and try the adapter again, if still the performance is bad, try to get another. They don't have any native sony lenses or metabones to compare to, but performance shouldn't be bad.... so I guess I will check.

Here is the number 1-800-896-6858

hmm, so the plot thickens...

Sigma 35 art performs like crap on the MC-11, it has the native features, but performance is bad, a lot of back and forth...

But Canon 24-70 2.8L II, performs great, doesn't have any native features, but AF-S, AF-C all work great, AF speed is just like on metabones.

MC-11 emulates a native lens, so those options have no effect.

I just got the MC-11 today and how the thing works my Canon 24-70 f2.8 II and 70-200 2.8 II blew my mind away. They focused quickly and accurately, as though they were on a Canon body.

I did some test shots with a bunch of friends today. When we checked the EXIF data on the shots, we found that the lenses were detected as Sony native A-mount equivalents. We believe that Sony is making the camera think that A-mount lenses were being used and used the built in Sony AF algorithms.

Then I tried the Sigma 35 Art. Granted that the AF in photo was not as fast the Canons, but I think it could be due to firmware as I got the green blink during power-up. In video mode, the lens was going back and forth but minutely to maintain focus.

i have the exact same findings. take note, if you shoot in high speed using canon lenses, the adapter will change after a few shots to wide open, it will not keep the same aperture.

Sigma has a statement on their website for better support with 120-300, and the duo 150-600 lenses we will have to wait till June-August time frame.

I don't have any new Sigma lens yet, but i will use Canon lenses only or mostly on Sony body, so is this adapter safe and good enough to go with until one day i buy any new Sigma lenses then maybe another adapter or better new firmware?

I want anyone to rate this adapter compared to Metabones IV for Canon lenses, anyone? I have MB III and i am planning to sell it with A7R so i can upgrade to A7RII, but not sure if i should go with MB IV or this Sigma adapter.

Get the Metabones IV. There are issues with this adapter.
