I never see loons this far south, so I figure this one must be migrating north. He stopped by a lake in southeast PA for a rest a quick bite to eat.

Great set of photos of a bird ive only seen on passage. We know them as the Great-northern diver in the UK.

It indeed was a big bite. I watched him wrestle with it for about 20 minutes before he got it in position and down.
