Just picked up the 7D2 today with a grip and extra battery. So excited as its quite an upgrade from my T2i. Controls are so different and of course so many more FPS. Gonna see what I can snag at the beach in the AM. Waves dont look too great but Im sure there will be something going on. So excited!

The trees made me think the horizon was tilted until I saw the road and the clouds.

Something different for me, I normally don't shoot people much but this young couple wanted me to shoot them and there son, I just pretended they were foxes and I think it turned out all right.

Good job. I see by the background they had to go into the woods to find you :-)

Made another attempt today. As usual there were settings I didn't change and ones I shouldn't have changed. Get it right one of these days. Again SOOC jpegs.

The plane: camera in one shot focus mode with center point only. Parked by the runway to wait for a plane. I wasn't ready when it was. Shooting through a wire fence - big holes that the lens could fit through. It did cost some mobility though. Wanted to try the * button to toggle AI servo mode but couldn't find the button with gloves on :-) Before the next plane and set of shots I remembered to put the camera in AI servo, turn off VC, shift to 9 point expanded and up the shutter speed. After all that the second set of shots were not really that much better than the first.

Still hard to find open water here. Saw two ducks in the water, set center focus point and this time remembered to check other settings and started to approach. They were having none of it. Birds were to far away for the focal length used so no real detail there. Therefore it becomes a snap-shot in time of a still frozen landscape and not a detailed shot of some wildlife. Only re-sized for posting.

It looks good. When shooting prop planes you get a nicer look with more prop blur. Typically a minimal shutter speed of 1/320 was recommended when I was expiating this. I find you need even slower than that which makes it tougher because you need to be steadier. Just in case you want to experiment more but there is nothing with your shot.

I know this is not the best shot, I just like that I actually caught it grabbing a drink in the pond.
