Got a little colder last night and there was some frost waiting for me on my car when I got back from work, thought I'd snap a photo of it while I was at it :)

Hi, I just bought this lens actually for Nikon. I notice that your photos don't have the half-moon effect as much as mine do. How do you "straighten" them? Photo cropping? Would removing the hood help as well? Thanks

I don't know who this is directed at - but some of it depends where you put the horizon of the photo. If I want to emphasise the fisheye effect I get really close to the subject and focus at the edge of the image (as much I focus at all I set the lens on infinity), but if I want things straighter I use the middle focus point on the horizon.

OK thanks for the clarification. I'll experiment with it more.

I kind've just play around. Had looked at various images, tried to emulate some, and then just see what happens - not very scientific I know :-)

And I think I Googled how to use a fish eye.

Took the Samyang 8mm to Haumoana last night for a bit of fun.

F/3.5 but should've gone back to f/8 for sharpness.

these were handheld in mid afternoon sun. i think with a tripod, good light and some practice this will turn out to be a pretty nice lens, especially for the price.
