You should had used a mirror to have the 1st picture taken be a picture of itself. Maybe next time.

I just called B&H to inquire about the hold up to my order...

They did hold up shipping my order because the extra battery back is still on back-order. I mean, seriously? Seriously???

I'm like, "Nut-uh! You ship now!"

*facepalm*

I've been ordering from B&H for years, but they have not impressed me with their act this week. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty upset with them right now. My pre-order was placed over the phone and apparently you cannot view those orders online, so I called yesterday and politely inquired on the status. Rather than receiving a polite or even a bland reply, I was treated rudely by the person on the phone. I had half a mind to cancel my order and take my business elsewhere.

I've just received a notification that the extra LP-E19 I ordered from Amazon will be here on Friday!

It is a typical B&H in my experience. It's likely not their fault. The "fault" (it's really no one's fault) is with the buyers. Just seems like EVERYONE has the same idea of ordering from B&H. I bet they get overwhelmed and can't meet the demand.

I've seen this time and time again with hot new releases. Last year I got my hands on an 11-24mm via Adorama weeks before B&H had any in stock. In 2012 I purchased a D800 from a retailer in Chicago in late March, and months later in June I decided to sell it to my friend/co-worker who was still waiting for B&H to fulfill his pre-order!

B&H is great - they're my go to source for most of my purchases...just not the hot new releases. I know better.

They actually did great with my 1Dx and my 11-24, both pre-orders.

For the 1Dx2 they've had some serious issues that will ultimately make me head to Adorama for future orders.

Seems like Canon was reasonably well prepared for this launch.

I ordered mine at NFM (because I had $600 of coupons to spend) only a couple weeks ago and just got "the call" that it is in & ready for pickup! :-)

Looks like an early afternoon for me!

Yes Canon was prepared.
My order date was 02/24.
I now have a tracking number and Big Brown has the prize.

For the 1Dx2 they've had some serious issues that will ultimately make me head to Adorama for future orders.

I just called and canceled my pre-order with B&H. I am not going to support them after what happened. And as a result of taking my money elsewhere, I'm essentially getting a $169 discount.

I called Adorama and if you call them directly, they are offering a special right now. For $5,999 you get the premium kit and a free LP-E19 battery. Also, the salesman at Adorama was able to tell me where I'm at in the line. I placed my order with Adorama several hours ago and I am currently #62 in line. They have shipped out all of the cameras from their first shipment and are awaiting the next one to come in. As expected, they do not know the date of the next shipment nor do they know right now how many are coming in. The way I look at it, #62 is not too bad. I can't see it taking too long. I'm also heading out to California soon for 2-weeks on a non-photography related trip, so even if B&H were to come through sooner, it doesn't really do anything for me at this point.

As a heads-up to everyone, my intentions are not to bash B&H or start a B&H versus Adorama battle. I'm just politely pointing out that B&H seems to be handling things the wrong way this week. I get it that they have a lot of work piled up after being closed for 9 days, but that was a company decision to close (of which I have absolutely no problem with) and they should expect that it's going to be crazy busy for awhile. And it's definitely not an excuse for being rude with your customers. In my case, I'm just picking up my money and taking it elsewhere. And as it tuns out, I'm getting a free $169 battery which is icing on the cake. :-)

I'm super excited for those that have received their 1DX2s already and for those that will be receiving one in the days to come!

Cheers,
Bryan

Just curious here but has anyone who ordered from B&H holding their camera or looking at an "out for delivery" notice with UPS?

Sorry to repeat myself but does anybody have any indication that B&H handed any 1dx2s to UPS on Monday?

Thanks!
