Nice! That 35mm f/2 is a great deal, I guess that's going to be Fuji's "nifty fifty" going forward. I'd like a 23mm lens, but think I'll hold out for the rumored 23mm f/2.

I might pick up the 50-230 for $199 though, just to have a tele lens.

Now that Fuji is my main kit, I do kinda want to upgrade the X-T10 to an X-T1 as well, so going to have to think whether I want to pull the trigger now or wait until the X-T2 is announced and prices may drop even more

If the X-T2 is as rumored I seriously may jump ship entirely from Sony. I got to try out the X-T1 in person finally and that EVF is pretty darn special.

Yea, the X-T1 is the best mirrorless camera I've tried so far, really enjoyed it. I like the X-T10 a lot, so might just be smart to wait and see what the X-T2 brings. Or maybe Fuji will release a cheaper X-T20 with the guts of an X-T2 and I'll get that instead

I'm sure that they will, but it won't be this year. I was waiting for an X-E3, but after they announced the X-E2s I figured it's not happening this year :(

Yea, I am going to have to resist the GAS for the bodies and look into buying more lenses. I am hoping the 23mm f/2 rumors are true, it's kind of paralyzing my buying decision because I'd prefer a 35mm f/2-like smaller lens over the current 23mm 1.4.

I have the 35mm 1.4, and eventually I'd like to add a 23mm and a 50ish mm as those 3 primes would cover most of my shooting. I am waiting to see if the 23mm f/2 shakes out, and I'm debating whether to pony up for the Fuji 56mm f/1.2 or go with the cheaper Rokinon version.

I use an uber cheap Minolta MD 58/1.4 as my portrait lens on the X-E2, works well enough for me for now :)

The 35 f/2 is a great deal, and I'd be inclined to hold out for a possibly more compact 23 if I didn't already have the f/1.4. The thing is practically glued to my X-E2 now. Compared to a DSLR with similar appointments it's not nearly as bulky, and it still seems to draw less attention.

So if you had to choose two out of the 16, 56 and 90 what two would you?

Reason I ask is I'm prepping up to add more Fuji gear next month, lenses anyway. Thinking of adding the 56 & 90 and perhaps the 16 but one might have to be put on hold for a bit as I also want to up the cameras to either X-PRO2 or, more probably, X-T2.

Part of the prep is forcing myself to leave the Canon gear in the bag or at home and shoot with what I can in Fuji. With Canon I mostly shoot with the 35/50 Art & the 135L the latter two are keeping me captive in Canonland. I hardly ever reach for the 85mm...

I don't do a lot of wide shots. My widest is the 23mm/1.4. I have both the 56 and 90 and enjoy both of them. the 35mm/2 is usually the lens that stays on my XT-1 most of the time.

Since you already have the 16-55, I think I'd choose the longer two--especially the 90 with its zippy AF.

Another thing to consider is the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm. I haven't used mine in a portrait setting yet, but I have used it a little on the street and for stills. For practice, I've been manual focus tracking on cyclists, and I'm getting better at it. The only live music I've shot with it was in a venue with lighting so bad it would have made a 6D weep, so that was a bust. So long as I can shoot it at 6400 or below and not underexpose too badly I think it will have potential in venues.

Here's a non-finalized one from the Rokinon I used to shoot a little product. It's close to minimum focus distance, stopped down a bit, and obviously backlit. I'm no product photographer mind you. I was shooting interior shots of a store, and added a few pieces of inventory along with it. If it had been more of a commercial type of shoot, I would have wanted to steam off the back labels of the bottles.

I love my Rokinon 85mm, though I haven't used it at all on my X-E2 and rarely used it on my X-E1. It's a fantastic lens though on any camera :)

Thanks Guys, input appreciated.

I use the Sigma 50 Art on the Fuji quite a bit so figured AF might be nice although I take your point about the 16-55 covering the range. On the other side it also has 16mm + I have the 2/18 also round that area. I always find this bit hard as these are business decisions so if I spend funds on one thing it can't easily spend on another. Some of that whiskey might help.

I think the 90 would suit as I have always shot 135 on my film/FF cameras and know the view well, also the 1.2 of the 56 would be handy in the badly lit parts of weddings that I try to find pools of good light in. Mmmmmmmm. I can see myself running around with the 23 on one camera and the 56 on the other too [with a 90 & 16 in a bag]. I guess I like the comfort of knowing that no matter where I have to shoot I have the gear to make life easier.

Is there anyway of reducing the crazy waxy skin effect on high ISO jpegs? I've dropped NR down to -2, which seems to make a negliable difference at 6400.

Short answer: No
Long answer: buy an X-PRO2 or an X-T2 [when it comes out]. No wax at 12800 JPG's at all.
