And a Gadwall same lens etc but 1/3200 iso 800 all shots from jpeg

Im happy with the camera it does seem to hold AF better than my 1dx and feels faster I perhaps need to tweak it a bit.

as the light dropped it did struggle to focus on the owl but that was head on wings wide open I may be to blame for that as it was small in the frame.

Rob.

More high ISO shots please

32K is the best I did with this brief playtime.

I was trying to hold onto my money for a little longer, but your posts on the free spare battery by phone did me in. Placed an order through Adorama. So much for fiscal conservatism.

Here's a quick ISO 10000 image I shot to take a look at the dynamic range.

The jpeg soc crushes the blacks a little and you lose some fine detail in the shadows, note the chair, but in the RAW you get all of the details in the shadows, and the highlights pull down quite nicely. But there's practically zero noise to my eye in it even with the soc jpeg. Usable all day long in my opinion.

Here's the RAW file to play with if anyone wants to take a go at it.

Does anyone know when they are going to add the Mark II as a gear list option for our signatures here?

Asking for a friend. :p

I pre-ordered from Adorama yesterday...23 hours and 14 minutes later UPS delivered it to my front door.

Life is good!

DPreview's review talks about muted colours and skin tones not being up to Canon standards. I opened it in LR and there is a big difference between Adobe and Camera Standard. Abobe was pretty yellow with no punch. DPP looks pretty good but it auto applied NR. I took that to 0 and it looks pretty good in both LR and DPP.

It would be nice to see a few portraits to see what DPeview is talking about.
