Well thought out and starting tomorrow I will be able to keep an eye on the 1DXii if UPS does their job. You've already
seen some of the high ISO images coming out of it-I was just hoping to get a functional ISO 8-10K and that certainly looks
doable.
I was just thinking if Canon could halve the frame rate of the 1DXii and double the sensor size they'd have an A7Rii....well
not quite :)
Regardless, the mirrorless Canon will put on the table will have access to the entire EF series of lenses and not the M's lineup.

Batis 18mm had my eye as a primo wide angle until the Samyang 14 was announced.
I have a lot of faults but being name conscious is not one of them-whatever gets the job done.

Had a local Italian Motor Event the other weekend - Just going through the photos now :)

Fiats, Lancia, Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini..... But, this was definitely the best there by far IMO :)

Seeing those early samples from the SY 50, I'll likely end up sticking with the 55 f/1.8. It's just so darn crisp, don't think it's worth the downgrade. Very curious about that 14 though.

I'm still bummed the Zeiss announcement rumor turned out to not be true. Had my hopes up it might be a Batis 135 coming. Someday, maybe

Just a heads up. Focus Camera has 2 Batis 18mm left in stock. I'll be refusing my package from BH on Monday, as I just placed new order with Focus Camera. They will have it shipped to me by Friday at no extra cost. BH couldn't change delivery speed even if I were to pay more..

I also purchased mine from Focus Camera today! They got 6 in stock. So we have 2 of them. Four more out there! They are now sold out.

I must have confirmed in stock status 7 times on the phone with the gentleman. I could not believe it, nor will I truly believe it until it arrives tomorrow (if it arrives tomorrow!) But I did get a tracking number so fingers crossed! I never get that lucky to be one of the first.

I'm not a car guy at all, in fact my middle grade lenses are worth more than any vehicle I own
but that black car is simply a thing of beauty (and worth more than my house I'm sure).

Made it safely to Maui. It's very beautiful here. I'm beat though. 5 hour difference plus traveling since 4 AM CT.

UPS says will be here Friday. I was a bit worried, flying out Monday.
With these new Sony sensors I don't care so much about pushing the ISO so I'll
not worry too much about where the Av hits are various FLs, AS LONG AS ITS SHARP :)
The MFT charts are promising....will know Saturday....but always in the back of my mind
is why is this not a 100-400???????? Oh well.

Hah not really in the market for an 18mm lens....plus sales tax is too high to buy something like that locally. If anything, I'm most interested in seeing how that Samyang 14 plays out.

Yeah I feel the same way...which is why I'm ok with F4 in lieu of the big-ass f2.8 zoom. but man f5.6 is really slow lol. I'm hoping its still in the f4.5ish range by 200mm

I hear ya, but I'm keeping the 70-400gii even if keeping the 70-300 until a native e-mount 100-400, then things change.
BUT I'm just now getting the info that the a-mount 1.4TC works really well with the 70-400gii + LAEA-3, what? 560mm and then
throw in the A7Rii into crop mode for 784mm=crazy !! Can this be true that the a-mount TC plays nice with the LAEA-3?? I can find
just little hints here and there.
And you say behemoth. I agree but I shot with 1Div + 500mm couple days ago, just to remind myself behemoth is always relative. I really
wouldn't want a minke or blue whale laying on top of me.
