My 1D3 has been gone for almost twenty months (sold when I picked up my 1D4, as Levina has suggested), but I still visit this section to see what people are doing with their 1D3. It was my first pro camera, and I was in awe of it at first, and then grew to really appreciate it. My only complaint, ever, was the low resolution LCD screen!

I loved those giant pixels, and once in a while I consider picking up a late serial number example to share my 1D4's batteries and lenses. Creamy, beautiful files with great colour ...

What is the going rate for a lightly used one now?

Amazon has one in stock for a steal! Scroll up a few posts for the link. :p I picked mine up for $400 last year in excellent condition. No box or shoulder strap but I have no use for an empty box and like my current strap just fine. I was getting an ERR99 message for a while. It seems to have resolved itself for the time being.

I've been a terrible camera owner lately and haven't taken a shot in ages. I just dig the 1D3 body. I haven't touched anything else since I bought it last year. It feels like it was made for my hands. This is also what I hate about it. I've been spoiled.

Have a wheelie nice day!

Apparently I lied in my previous post. I did take a few shots not too long ago and forgot all about them. I'm not old enough to explore senility just yet.

A tired girl after an afternoon of duck hunting.

The shots from the air have some screwy settings because I didn't realize I had the lens hood against the window inducing a vibration. Once I figured it out things were OK but I was sick. I don't fly and felt like I was going to yak for hours after the flight. Ugh. Never again. In a few years I'll forget how terrible I felt and beg to go back up.

Have a wheelie nice day!

Been shooting graffiti in my town as there seems to be plenty of it. Still loving the 1D Mark III and use it more than any camera I've ever owned. The autofocus is a dream, whether you're shooting stills or action; you just have to know how to set it up properly with each type of use :) And files from the Mark III are easy to work with, much easier than the Nikon files I worked with on this shoot. For the shot below I left a little grass and vine in the photo to add a bit of realism to the photo.

Took these this evening at sunset. A little Blue Tit flew into the tree that stands in front of my building and it sat in the tree top which is level with and right in front of my living room window, so I grabbed a few shots. They're not very good as it was really windy and the little birdie was swaying and constantly had to brace himself, but I noticed the bugs and liked how a few of the shots turned out. I used TC's too.

Hi Levina

I recently was able to pick up a very, very lightly used (if at all) 300 f/4L IS ... know now why you like it. I tried it out with Kenko 1.4X TC also and was pleased with the results. I have a friend who has a Kenko 2X which I intend to try soon, if I like the results, I plan to pick one up.

The 300/4L is a wonderful lens, Maxdave. It was my first serious glass and coming from a cheap Tamron lens I was blown away by the IQ. I have a 400/5.6L because its longer but the 300/4 is still my favourite of the two. And it takes a TC really well. Even a 2x TC does well in fair light and if you don't have to crop or just a little bit. Let us know your findings after using it with the Kenko 2x?

And congrats on the new toy! :)

I've been shooting Barn Swallows for a couple of years now, but these are the first House Martins for me.
