Possibly. Or furniture, like "I own a leather couth. I bought it from a couth man"

A hired etiquette adviser? "Should I eat this with a fork or just grab it and bite pieces off? Where's my couth man?"

I used to say "couch"..... but when I got married, I was informed that this piece of furniture is more properly called a "sofa"..... my wife is an interior designer. Here endeth the tale.

In our house, I always get the last word(s): "Yes, dear."

• Description of a Couch and a Sofa:

• A couch usually has no arms or has only one arm.

• A sofa has two arms and a back.

• Purpose:

• A couch was originally used for lying down. Nowadays, we use it as a chair.

• A sofa is used for sitting like a normal chair.

• Size:

• A couch can seat two or three people.

• A sofa can seat four or more people. So, a sofa is bigger than a couch.

• Places used:

• A couch is more informal that it is used mostly in private places such as a living room in a house.

• A sofa can be used in a home, an office, or a clinic without a problem.

Couches are used in the kind of Clinic you are often seen in, you know, an entire team of Swiss doctors..

But where would you find a clinic without a problem?

For ever more I'll think of the couch as the furnishing equivalent of a denim vest you've fashioned by tearing the sleaves from the former jacket.
