I can not decide which of these I prefer. What do you think? Thanks for any input.

No I didn't. This was a few months ago. All I saw was tracks of them. I was hoping to see some and maybe get some shots. But nope. Not a one.

I prefer number 1. The second one makes me feel a little clausterphobic ;-)a I prefer a more open feel.

#1 for me. I don't like the branches going all the way out the right side.

I like the addition of what's on the beach, and water ripple in #2. If you can get the rest of the limb into the photo it would be even better. I usually prefer portrait view for vertical objects, but you have a mix of both, so I also like #1 almost as much. My attention is directed more to the horizon on the water, and the bird, in #1. #2 directs me more toward the shoreline, which looks to be your main objective.

I like some things in both images in the first one the limb on the far right and the bird are nice, i find the foreground in the second one a little more interesting. So if I had to pick one it would be the second one.

#1. The horizon draws out the jagged branches into a smooth quiet finish. Nice eye.
