A new favorite...

Brewed by the Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown Pennsylvania, this pilsner beer is rated as outstanding.

And guess what? I like it! ♥

My tip is less about DSLR and more about the beer. Careful in the sun, it doesn't take long to skunk a beer. It takes only a few minutes in direct sunlight like that. When I'm outdoors like on a restaurant patio, I'll put the table menu in front of my beer so it's shaded/protected from skunking.

Certain wavelengths of light that are present in sunlight, and strongly represented in florescent light cleave a compound from hops. One of the resultant pieces combines with a sulfur compound to form a mercaptan, the skunky smell. Brown bottles block a lot of that light, green & clear glass offer little to no protection. Cans, ceramics, etc. offer complete protection. So the only way for kegged beer to become skunky is for the consumer to leave their glass in the sunlight. It'll not pour skunky. Of course kegged beer has other issues to deal with that can/bottles do not, such as draft lines that aren't cleaned properly or frequently enough. In which case you may get a butter bomb. Pediococcus, one of the bacteria that grows in draft lines, produces diacetyl, one of the main flavor compounds in butter.

I really like talking about beer. It's hard to stop me once I start.

Thanks! Here's the six pack before the shoot. I posted the BTS in the "show your setup and final result" thread.

Another Guinness. ISO 2000, no less! Here you can appreciate Guinness's true color. A very dark red beer
