See a few are complaining over on the DP review forum of having problems with the 1DX MKII not being sharp when used with the 500mm f4 or 300mm f2.8.

Can safely say my one is working like a treat with all my glass and actually I have nothing bad to say about it at all.

300/2.8 IS II worked fine last weekend - nothing to report here. Shot about 1k frames of field sport (Soccer and Aussie Rules) in direct and indirect light.

If anyone is interested in a larger set of photos to peruse, I shot these all with the 1DXII without flash, 70-200 F2.8 IS II, Auto ISO set to a 6400 limit, which most of the indoor shots are at, and I went to town with it. There are 300 examples in this gallery from Free Comic Book Day 2016. Minimal processing done on them all. Mostly levels. I shoot a lot of events. The camera performed beautifully. :-)

Yeah same here. I have shot a few frames with the 300

I think you got some guys that are not familiar with the AF systems.

this is a 300L F/2.8

Was jpeg but did have a slight levels adjustment :-)

Still think the detail and quality of files is amazing from this camera but must resist selling my 1DX which is now my backup and getting two of these beasts!!!

Excellent detail. Handheld too. No TC I presume?. When I did mine it was with a 300mm and a couple of stacked TC's. I'll get one this summer @ 560mm. Thanks for setting up my benchmark.
