I'm going to rent this lens and see if I can get use to the manual focus at my advanced age.

I'm hoping the Milvus version causes used prices of the ZE to drop a little. Stunning lens from what I've seen.

It's extremely easy to focus for typical landscape work, set the lens to infinity and shoot away.

I need a 20 or 21mm lens for astro and landscapes and I think the Zeiss 21mm and the Sigma 20mm Art are the choices so far. The problem with the Art lens is no filters. The price used for both is about the same the Art is very sharp and the Zeiss will take a lot to get use to with the manual focus. I really like my 24mm Art and I want to stay with a prime. Advice is welcome, thanks.

The ZE21 is a dream to focus with for astro and landscape - the manual distance scale and dampened ring are a wonderful combination. Although, I've had better luck with getting sharp foregrounds (as well as sharp backgrounds) by using the distance scale as intended instead of just infinity. For landscape just pick your aperture, most often it was f11 for me on full frame, and set the "11" (or the number for the aperture you picked) symbol to infinity - then just nudge it forward a tad as needed via live view confirmation. Though, Miranda's results speak for themselves so what do I know? :)

Astro is more often than not just near or at inifinity unless you have a close foreground object, but then you're probably looking at stacking due to the large aperture anyway.

I thought the new Art 20 was going to replace the ZE21 for me, but the inability to conveniently use filters turned me off despite having AF.
