I enjoy seeing what you guys keep coming up with. Keep them coming! :-D

I've been looking back at all the posts so far, and two of them just make me say "OK, I give up. How did they do that?"

One of them is the "Me" shot (back in January) from EastBayGirl. Stina, I'm trying to figure out the position of the camera when you took that shot. I really love the multiple partial faces in the shot. Mysterious and intriguing. No one can tell, for sure, what you look like, but there's enough there to feed the imagination.

In any case, both shots are extremely creative and my hats off to both of you.

Thanks! :-D

The camera is right behind me and to my right, focused on the small mirror. I had to keep moving my position to get "the right" amount of my face showing and make it look like I was putting on makeup.
A lot of shots. :rolleyes::-D

The second shot is MichiTimm's Framed Selfie from this month. Would love to see the behind the scenes on that one. I presume you were shooting into a mirror or some other reflective surface, but I can't quite picture it (no pun intended). And I also presume you reversed the image in post processing so the lettering on the camera strap, hat and shirt would all read correctly.

In any case, both shots are extremely creative and my hats off to both of you.

Why thank you sir! :)

Your description sounds way cooler than the truth, lol.

In short, I just used a self-timer. The photo wasn't taken with the camera I was holding in the photo. That's a Canon T70, a film camera from the '80's. I took it with a Canon S90, a point and shoot from the 2000's. The "frame" is a public art piece in the shape of a book outside a children's science museum. It has a hollowed out center that looked perfect for a frame to me. I didn't have a tripod on me so I set the camera on top of my camera bag on top of a bench-type thing. Hit the self-timer, sprinted into position.

Unedited, straight out of camera:

The one I posted was cropped, corrected for distortion/straightened, toned, sharpened -- basically it was edited to within an inch of its life, lol!

And just because I'll take any excuse to post a photo I like ...
here's one I took with the T70 film camera. Same camera-bag tripod method, same cropping - but less editing. I used redscale film, which gives the funky color tone, and scanned the negative at home after having them processed at a local camera store:

Ingenius. I never would have thought that. I naturally just assumed there was only one camera.

Thank you for sharing the behind-the-scenes, and the additional photo.

Some of these took a bit of thinking and but once I got a bit outside the box I was able to come up with some some shots that fit the topics. Several of these were from just random sightings when all I had was my phone. Anyway, here's what I have for May....

A BOLD statement from the Department of Redundancy Department. This same gas station used to display stickers urging customers to "PLEASE PREPAY IN ADVANCE." No thanks, I'll prepay after I pump the gas. Duh.

Italic is just from a sign at the NASA Glenn 75th Anniversary Open House that was held last weekend.

Another shot from the NASA Glenn Open house, this one showing the instrumentation tubing inside a wind tunnel model with the coding we use to determine which tube goes with which pressure measurement.

I had a couple choices for this category, but opted to stick with the Open House theme and show an older wind tunnel model framed by its support structure, which we just happen to call a frame.

And finally, a golf egg is heavily INDENTed!

Great job, OhioHick! All of those are pretty clever, but I especially like the ones for code and framed.

Thanks, MichiTimm. This was a tough hunt. Really made me think. Initially I figured this was going to be a bunch of photos of billboards or other text sources, but slowly the gears started to turn and I had an idea or two about a few of the clues. Turned out to be quite a fun quest!

Had to look up bold in the dictionary for some other meanings for this word.

Thus, this lone tree stands boldly atop the bold rock walls of Rocky Face Recreation Area.

Dude. I LOVE this list.

When I've done solo self-scavenger hunts on my own (yes yes, I'm a nerd, I know, whatevs) I've often used song titles. Sometimes I'll just use whatever the top ten current songs are, or even albums - or I'll scroll through my iPod and randomly stop on an album and use the song titles from that album.

Anyway, it allows so much room for interpretation. Like, "School's Out". Obviously, I could do a school. OR... literally anything that people do when not in school, lol. LOVE it.

(Now watch, this will be the month I don't come up with any ideas, lol.)
