For what it's worth, and to the extent I know anything about Gary Fong, I don't even consider him a photographer. I mean, through a quick search I can't find a single photo by him. So, I've concluded that he's actually a gear educator rather and a photographer.

After reading the story of Gary helping out a wedding photographer who was basically being extorted by a client made me respect Gary as someone looking out for fellow photographers.

oooh yeah he does get props from me for that sorry .....so sony and the stand up for that photog those two things positive

way back in the hey day, I recall Gary was a celebrity photographer first then became successful launching his products.

I like some of Gary's videos on the a7 cameras. They certainly helped me when I first started learning the Sony system. Kudos to him for helping out a fellow photographer.

I actually use his tupperware diffuser and it has been a great help in covering events where action folds around you at random - I've read some snotty wedding photographer citing his photograph as an example of why GF diffuser is a POS according to him and how he "ingeniously" bounced the light off the wall to attain the shot he wanted, but try that in the middle of a dance floor with nothing to bounce the flash off and there is no luxury of space or time to tote along slave assistant with a giant reflector and set up the shot amongst flailing limbs and butts. Every tool has its advantages and limitations and it's the photographer's responsibility to understand them and use them accordingly.
Speaking of Gary coming to the defense of the poor wedding photographer, I've read that some time ago. Take note of the lawsuit party names, you can't make something like that up even if you tried...
