You guessed right.
No settings displayed on the LCD. Just menu, picture and Histogram.

Thx, Martin. It's always nice to get a leg up on the trial and error thingie.

Another ignorant question: I noticed I don't have access to a rear LCD view of my shooting settings. With every other camera body I've owned, this has been possible....I'm guessing the 5Dc is old enough that this isn't part of the firmware, unless I'm missing something. I have read the manual, btw. <eg>

Pic of the bae's before I headed out to shoot a wedding last Saturday. Shot in the sunsphere in Knoxville. Very tough venue as the walls were either glass or mirrors on the sides. Low, black ceiling above.

I couldn't quite make out the brand of dual camera sling.... What brand is it and do you like it? Silly question, I guess... since you use it on shoots.

Not a silly question! It's a Holdfast Camera Swag double strap. My wife bought it for me for our anniversary last year. I really love it. It's comfortable and looks streamlined compared to most other single strap + single strap setups I have seen. For the wedding, I ended up rocking the 35/85 on two different cameras, flashes on each, batteries clipped in on my belt behind.

Correct, it's too old to have any settings other than the menu, histogram and preview on the LCD. Most of us don't use the LCD for anything other than histogram review or menu access.

Your camera settings are all on the top LCD. Once you get used to it, it's easier, and faster honestly. On my modern cameras, I actually don't like having to trip on my LCD on the back just to see what settings I have going on. I like the physical buttons for changing settings too. But just a personal preference.

Very best,

I wrapped up the editing on the wedding I shot last week. A friend hired me on and it was a pretty quick, casual event. The venue was the hardest I have shot at so far, bar none - the Sunsphere in downtown Knoxville. All tinted glass and mirrors on the inside. Still came away with some shots I am happy with. Used my two 5D's and the 35/85 plus flashes the whole time.

Fantastic work there. The old gal (5Dc) still has everything needed for even difficult events like this, with the right skill. Excellent job.

Thank you so much!! Yeah I love my 5D's. I have been tempted to upgrade to 6D's since I am getting hired for more and more events, but probably going to hang onto at least 1 even if I upgrade.

Cross post from Show us your setup thread:

I got asked to shoot a pre-production product the night before it was schedule to ship out. Got the call at 12:30pm and was there at 7:30pm after work to shoot, lol. Had a very tight space to work in, but we got it done! Brought the table, lights and gear. Setup, shot, tear down in 1 hour. 5D + 35 IS for all of these.

Nice work, and it would seem you're on a roll. :-)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Thank you! It's been a very busy week, lol. I'm working on another project for my day job also. They are wanting shots of downtown to hang in the office so I have been working on that too. Things calm down this week and then I have another marathon week 6/11-18. Shooting an event in Asheville on the weekend of the 11th, another event that Wednesday in Asheville again, then another in Atlanta on Saturday the 18th. I'm happy to be busy!
