I tried and failed, but want to try again myself.

David, did you get the canon mount or e-mount version? What are the differences?

I had tried the Canon mount so I could mount the lens on both cameras. Also the Rok/SY lenses are perfect to use with my ND Throttle adapter. That is an easy way to use NDs with a bulbous lens like the 14mm, and you'd lose that ability with the e-mount version.

Still, if the e-mount has better sun stars, that is attractive for night shots. I may just need to weigh out all my shooting plans for the lens and decide what is more important to me: ND usability or better starbursts.

Good points made. I'm a fan of sun stars so I'd probably go with the e-mount version. Thanks for the feedback.

Some decent sample photos here. I am not a fan of the sun stars though on the Canon version. Charlie was right.

This was interesting too. Well, we can't expect greatness from a $300 lens.

"Corners: The corners are not great on this lens with the Sony E-Mount. It was a better lens on the Canon than on Sony. But it's not terrible on the Sony for an Ultrawide. "

Edited another image I had of the Milky Way with a slightly different composition than I previously posted. I also learned a bit more about editing Milky Way images so here is another attempt. This should be the last image I'll share from my trip. :)

I had a remarkable and fantastic customer service experience lately...it's not Sony related, so I hope you won't mind, but just felt the desire to share about it.

In 2013 I purchased Wacom's first gen Cintiq Companion. It is a terrific PC and I loved it, but eventually it fell victim to a problem with the power jack. It was past the warranty period. So, I sort of just shelved it for a while - last year got real busy for me - but lately I wanted to get it repaired.

A little Internet searching turned up a notice on Wacom's site acknowledging that it was a defect and that they were repairing all affected PCs at no charge (with free shipping) through the end of 2016. So, I called Wacom and arranged the repair, which they said average 15 day turnaround. Well, last week while we were camping in Arkansas I got my PC back from Wacom - or so I thought.

Turns out, Wacom sent me an email saying that there was a delay in getting the needed parts, so they just decided to send me a brand new Wacom Cintiq 2 instead! How cool is that?! That's almost like sending your used a7R in to be repaired and receiveing a brand new a7R II instead.

Now, realistically, I'm sure they're on the verge of releasing the Companion 3 soon and maybe they need to get rid of their stock of 2's. I don't know and I don't care...I just couldn't be more pleased with Wacom's exceptional customer service. Doesn't that make you want to buy a Wacom? You should. :)

Lol, ouch. I honestly have more fun and get more excited driving my Mini than I do when my friend offers me to drive his GT-R (his isn't the last one I pictured) :)

To be fair, I also don't drive his car anywhere near as "spiritedly" as I drive my Mini

nearly the exact same thing happened to me a year or two ago, but with an HP laptop (which are known to be junk). At the time I was running one of the larger HP's, their 18", kinda unique. Long story short, it was crap and had problems. Fast forward a few years and no warranty, monitor died, so I sent it in for repair. Said they had it, few days later, they didnt have it. Gave me a brand new 17" lappy with the works, touch screen, SSD + HDD (yes 2 separate drives on a lappy), bluray, 16gb ram, i7, ect. I wasnt charged a thing (was suppose to pay a few hundred for the new screen).

amazon has always been amazing for me as well. They've bailed me out of warranty issues before, pretty much unheard of from a retailer rather than manufacturer.

I got to shoot at Jokusarlon Lagoon three times-afternoon (sucked), evening (ok), kinda dark (much better) and at Sun up/0400 and it was much better. It wasn't long after this shot that the rough wave hit me and the A7Rii. This place is dangerous, especially if you are out in the water...you can get hit by an iceberg and many of them are VW beetle size. Despite the hosing me and the Rii are still working-
