In HSS, the gradient is fairly pronounced. It's fixable in post, but it is annoying. I am using the YN622 triggers to get the HSS to work, btw.

I'd like to ask someone who's had experience with both - is the gradient as pronounced in the new Godox light? I'm pretty happy otherwise with the Rovelight. The new Gidox uses proper HSS with pulsing (shouldn't get a noticeable gradient), your Rovelight is using long tail sync, which is why you get the gradient. Gear List

I used to shoot AB800 at 1/600 with my old 1dmk2 using PW mini/flex. AB1600 can do it much better. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

Shot outdoors on Sunday... 300 pops... no gradient. Hatch How much power these strobes have in HSS mode? Any day time shot to show. Thanks in advance. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

Before you sell up, remember this - for portrait orientation shots under Supersync (Rovelight) in particular:

BenBoozer Hatchling More info Post edited over 7 years ago by BenBoozer. | May 26, 2016 20:11 | #310 Hello, My first post here. I use the elinchrom Skyport HS with a D-Lite RX4 powered by a VML. I find the RX4, while inexpensive, responds well to high speed sync and I can get clean exposures up to 1/8000 sec with minimal to no banding. These shots are uncropped and have not been retouched other than WB, levels, sharpening, etc. in Lightroom. The dark skin was very challenging against that white dress, not sure why it looks so washed out. Image hosted by forum (795304) © BenBoozer [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. DThriller Goldmember ![]() More info | May 29, 2016 09:00 | #315 Question for rove light users: Is there a way to stop the light from firing a less strong flash when its not charged? I was on full power the other day and was firing too fast and the flash fired at less power when wasn't given enough time. I know my speed lights have a custom function to turn that off and on (I forget what its called). It might just be a thing that the RL just does. I was just wondering about it bc it can make you think your power is wrong when its just you didn't give it the time to recycle. http://www.facebook.com/DPhillipsStudios
