Thanks Gene. Heres the last few ill post tonight from a birds in flight show I was at yesterday. The detail in the 100% crops of these is insane, even from the wide open shots I took

So B&H or Adorama for the batis..Will they get then about the same time? Which might have the shorter backorder list

digital_AM wrote in post #18022697 (external link)
Congrats Nadim. I too just ordered the Batis 18. I bet Zeiss will announce a Loxia 15 now. Haha.

Batis 18 seems backordered everywhere. I'm hoping my 25 is a bit more available.

Love the Pyramiden porn--thanks for the shout out!

I'm sorry to hear your tour was so quick, I hope you got a few more good shots out of it. Did you see any sign of animal life when you were there? I know the polar bears are why the guides lock-and-load big critter ammo.

Love the walrus pic, too!

Thank you. Yes, definitely retouched the skin. Healing/cloning and LOTS of dodge and burn.

Quick question for a7 series users. Have u ever had issues with the auto switch on the evf and the monitor. I find if it's very bright out and I fold out the monitor to do a down low shot looking in the monitor it will switch to evf often when I don't want it to. Not sure why it does this. Any one else have this issue. I find I have to put it in monitor only while I shoot down low. Thanx

So the lighting set-ups kind of vary because we were experimenting. But generally the key light is a 32 inch octabox at a 45 degree angle camera right. For the hair light we used a small 6 x 12 inch portable softbox at a 45 degree angle opposite of the fill. There's a 32 inch shoot through umbrella as a fill light directly to the left of the model. For some of the shots we used a 24 x 36 inch silver reflector in lieu of the umbrella. For the shots with the reddish tones in the backdrop we fired a gridded mini beauty dish with a red gel into the backdrop.

Used cheapo yongnuo 560ex ilghts for the whole thing.

Man, I really need to start learning all this stuff. Not sure where to even start (and I don't mean point me to that website about lighting, I forget what it's called), I mean, real live experience playing with models and lights in a studio.
I think I need to join a meetup group or similar.

yes I often get this issue. I have set my trash can custom button to flick between evf and lcd so if I'm using the Lcd and the sensor switches to evf I hit the button and the lcd comes back on and stays on
