Thanks, Jake! I'm definitely leaning towards the 500mm coupled with the Sidekick. K-40X it is, then! :)

Wimberley now offers a conversion kit to turn the sidekick into a full gimbal..

That changes the Sidemount, not the Sidekick.

Yes, I'm not seeing anything in print that would allow it to work with the Sidekick, not saying it absolutely won't, just that Wimberley does not appear to be advertising it as such.

Further, when I look at the images of the Sidemount WH-200"s" there are two off center fasteners holding the QR onto the tilt shaft visible, as illustrated in the "how to " image on Wimberleys site as well,

The Sidekick does not have these two fasteners, rather there is a single faster dead center of the tilt shaft,. so no I do not think this would be an easy conversion.
