Bidding for a job as team photographer for a JrA hockey team. Duties include team photo, individual photos and 10 home games.

I have NO experience bidding on this type of job. So I'm lost.

Here is some additional information:
- Team is located in a wealth part of town and the players are paying $4000-6000 to play.
- close to my place
- may lead to work with their jr. association which is one of the largest in the country

If anyone has experience as a team photographer or bidding on work of this nature, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did you ask what their budget was? That is my first question when it comes to negotiations.

My guess is that this bid is either going to come in as a per day / per assignment fee, or an overall yearly package.

Be sure to adjust either amount to include both time spent not shooting photos (culling, processing, captioning, uploading), etc. All of these images will likely become property of the team, so you won't have any future opportunity to make additional money from selling prints or licensing images. This also should go into your bid price.

do they want prints or all digital? I assume all digital.

Team and Individual - rate per player - around $20-$30 per depending on your market, and if you do 1 or 2 poses for each individual
Games - rate per game - around $200-$400 per game depending on your market.

give them around 200-300 edited digital per game.

They probably don't need 200-300 photos a game tho...I could be wrong...

Warning: No experience shooting directly for a team.
