If this is a TF/Trade shoot. Both parties should get what they want(do you agree?). You do it the model's way...and you do it your way.... because it's a trade. You want to leave the TF shoot with usable pictures for you and the model's portfolio.

When I use to do trade a few years back, I always have certain look and poses in my head or a bunch of pictures in my phone and show it to the model to do it. A moodboard as you might call it. It makes easier communication with the model.... just a tip. :-)

Im well aware yes. This was literraly a spur of the moment thing. She was leaving for paris the next day and i thought, I have free time, why not.
Sometimes shooting just for the fun of it is more important than not shooting at all :)

I have no professional aspirations in terms of photography btw. its really just a hobby

Sport/Fitness Shoot with Raquel and Mathiu - basemodels
Test shoot with Raquel, and her model boyfriend joined for a shot and two as well, he was mainly holding my octa in windy conditions though :)

Mainly shot with Canon70D, 50mm ART and 18-35mm ART.
3 Speedlights in an octa, and one bare as a rim if im not using the sun as a rim.

QUOTED IMAGE

I really like the composition of the shot and it almost looks like she could be taking a break between exercises which would work really well for a less in your face advert.

I use 3 speedlights in an octa...

What does that mean?

3 speedlights mounted together inside an octagon shaped softbox i.e. octabox. So single light source.

Ah, okay, got it.

Can I ask the specific brand/model of softbox? That sounds like something I'd like to investigate doing...

Phottix, it's quite cheap. 80USD for an 80cm octa
However I also have a stand adapter for 3 speedlights, not to mention 3 speedlights. But all my speedlights are dirt cheap and mixed brands. Only the main one is a nissin di700 that speaks to the phottix ttl triggerset in high speed sync

Nice set, agree not sporty posing but still very useable especially as it's just a hobby. Stunning model too.

I like the ones with the green visor. All good images though and the location really added to that.

well done!!

I think you showed a perfect example of what can be done without high end major light setup/gear.

Truly love them all ;)
