Shoot this with one of your frosty beers next to it, and that will be my favorite image of the year!

Sounds like a plan Jeff, I'll have to see what I can come up with tomorrow...you know, I'll "have a beer and think about it". ;-)a

Just got this lens and really curious about the results.
It is a used lens in a very good shape but there is dust inside and needs cleaning.

Well, the dust cleaning may be an exercise in futility. But it's your lens and your time. :D Best to just go out and shoot and capture wonderful images. :-)

Yeah, it will always have dust inside......lots and lots and lots of dust.........why do you think it is nick-named "The Dust Pump"?

But the dust is no problem - it doesn't affect anything, as far as image quality goes.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I checked the images and there is no impact on quality. So I am not in a hurry to get it cleaned, at the service provider would take 10 days which is not that bad in my country but would charge 100 bucks for this.

Regarding the Dust Pump nickname I read some contradicting opinions, many state that their equipment never got dust inside or only very few after years of usage. Some even state that they used theirs on beaches etc. and still did not get any dust.
It seems it rather depends on the specific lens and there is a variation in the weather sealing quality.

Sorry mate - this DUST discussion is never getting old, I fear.

The whole thing is a myth. Don't waste money, time or any thought on this.

If you ever had disassembled one of these - there is a paperish-felt like filter inside, designed to keep dust out.

This lens does not collect more or less dust inside than any other non push/pull lens.

I had this lens many years and none of the beaches I am fortunate to live near by have ever done any harm to it.

One more thing: This lens is NOT weather sealed by any stretch of imagination. Version two is though....

Cheers.
