Just took a look at this thread for the first time. Some nice shots. This one though from 2012 is fantastic. (Number 97 in the thread. Page 7)

I've been working on the challenges of swallows and terns in flight this spring and i know it's real difficult to get a sharp image. Here HoosierHorridus got more than a good technical shot. He got a great subject shot too with the bird interaction and composition. I tip my hat. Very well done.

Just got back from kayaking this morning with these. Lots more to process but so far I'm happy with what I see.

My Goodness. Number three made me lean forward to see it even better. It is truly amazing.

Chances like that do not happen often and you didn't miss it. Home Run.

Daniel thanks for the tips. I've just scanned this thread post aquiring a SOT and hope someday to contribute photo wise.
We meted out stability versus weight (old age) and went with Eddyline Caribbean 14. It's 29 inches wide so meets your suggest
width.
I'd never considered an SOT but two weeks ago we paddled camped for 4 days on the Green River in Ky. 8 of us in total, 3 in SINKs
and 5 on SOTs, and I got to observe the SOTs up close and personal for the first time.
I asked about stability after seeing the possibility of tripod placement and one of the paddlers swung his legs 90 and placed them in the
water=the kayak was hugely stable and I was instantly sold on the idea.
Yesterday I swung around and grabbed a drybag out of the storage area behind the seat and felt totally comfortable pulling a camera out.
I've had a Lenscoat Lensblind sitting around for a while, now I know the perfect use for it.
So thanks for this thread and to all who've posted up inspirational shots!

Thank you very much. I've made several trips to that location with the kayak waiting to see the young grebes, but got very lucky with that shot.

Thank you. Definitely my best Barred Owl to date.

Did you have the link to the site in Carolina (maybe) where several camo applications were shown for kayaks ??
My SOT has rails up front on either side and on the back on both sides and I was thinking this--a total of four forming
a virtual square would work great to hold a pvc frame setup for the camo netting; this way you can pop the frame on
and off at will. Thoughts ?

Before I take the full plunge, do any have knowledge of the OverBoard Waterproof SLR Camera Bag ??
I need to know if a full sized DSLR + 100-400ii will fit.
Thanks.

My gripped 7D with 100-400L (v1) fits comfortably in the large size with the lens hood extended. It is the Pro-Sports Waterproof SLR Camera Bag. The dimensions on http://www.overboardusa.com …slr-camera-bag-large.html (external link) may help you.

I haven't tried anything other than camo burlap draped over the kayak and a camo poncho. I've actually gotten closer to wildlife without it. Maybe I just don't look as scary as I used too!
