You definitely put good use to that lens. I mist say that even thought many say the canon is better, i simply love that lens. So crisp and consistent in performance!

The Canon might be better at shooting test patterns, but I've always liked the rendering of the Sony 16-35.

Great shots medicine man

DF, Mystik, thank you both.
I've found while on this trip that adapted lenses wont work with Smooth Reflections? Have you all noticed that---or maybe I'm missing a setting. It wouldn't have help when in the water for these iceberg shots, Smooth Reflections at 16 or 32 shot smoothing just took way way too long. I needed to get an image in 2-3 seconds not the time it takes for all those smoothing shots. So I put on a 10 stop variable ND to get what I wanted (also in the A7x thread). I used this same lens extensively in Patagonia and think it is great, at least to my eye. I do have the EOS 24-70/4 with me and it's been great too when the 16-35 is too wide (often) and it acts native for AF. I do plan on adding the EOS 16-35/4 when I can find one for my 1DXii.

My wife has gave up trying to keep track. As long as I keep producing photos of the kids she's good :-)

DF...I'm the goof in the crowd then. I have the EOS 16-35/4 and I actually like THE LENS better than the FE 16-35, go figure. Image quality wise, sharpness
I consider it a draw between the two. The Sony has a bit better color but the EOS is a bit sharper. Luckily with Metabones I can go either route; but back to
the lens better part, I just like the feel/construction of the Canon better...I think it's the ribbing on the Sony I'm not in love with. Of course matters not
in the bigger picture and I never had (nor want) the heavy Canon 2.8 II.

My she-boss gave up too! She saw the 8-15mm arrive yesterday and just quietly shook her head side to side.

Gotcha. Well I might like the 2.8 for light but I'd never like the weight and bulk.
I'll leave that to the younger and stronger. What weight I can still tote is going to
be the long glass. The wides, with the Iceland trip, are the exception.
I say that and just 2 days ago the EOS 8-15 arrived.....more of a frivolity lens
but we've got to keep it fun.
