Almost no curvature distortion. Did you do any corrections for that in post processing? That would make a good lens for architecture. That lens is also on my list.

Only weak noise reduction.
Only apply lens profile from PS (not much different before applied).

That is pretty good. Photozone shows some dist at 11mm which you would expect and it really improves at 14mm.

the 11-24 is THE best lens I have...period...JS

I love mine.

I'm not sure if it's my best. But it's my best specialty lens. :)

Well I ran the 14-24 through the boss and she reminded that would be two trips, but to
keep traveling and do the best with what I've got....speaking of, the 8-15mm arrives tomorrow,
should be a hoot to shoot with.

Keep reminding your boss. One time they can break down.

Haha, well you're right, broke her on the 1DXii :)
If I was pro and could do the tax write off or some other real justification maybe
but again looking at what I shoot it would gather dust. 3K of dust!
I'm going to leave that lens in the pro's hands.

OOOOOOr, another reasoning would be, "If I had the 11-24/4L, then I can then be a pro."

All in good time. It's a cool lens, but it doesn't see too much play time for me. Then again, I'm just the village idiot with too little time, and too much gear.

Hey Guys, a photography trip is coming up for me in a months time. I am hoping to do some landscape work and night shooting. Anybody here aware what wireless remote / shutter release can be used with this beast? WFT comes at a price and I am trying to avoid that. Preiovusly with 5D2 / 5D3 I had Vello shutterboss / intervelometer however that has a 3 pin connector which 1D series doesn't have.

Any pointers? [Bulb mode, intervalometer for timelaps and stacking are priorities].

The 1D series has a 3 pin connector (I assume you are referring to the 3 pin connector for the TC-80N3 and compatible connectors). The 1DX2 moved the 3 pin connector to near the vertical shutter release position, but that shouldn't prevent you from using whatever you have with a 1DX2.
