Haha sir yes sir!

Meant to be a hard direct light. The setting, what dont you understand about it? Clean minimal, places focus on model, no?

I think by "settings" he means exposure settings? I could be wrong, but that's how I understood it when I read it.

DThriller is referring to your flash/camera settings. Direct light is one thing, this light is definitely hot. It's brightening up everything and not in a flattering way. What was your flash power set at? Camera settings?

Some moments are too amazing to be ruined with words.

Yeah I dont get it haha

Out of curiosity what was the situtation with Nellie? Is this a friend or a model you know or hired? Are you shooting for an agency? You say you were going for a direct harsh flash look so was that all you shot?

Im super interested in understanding the logic of how these shots come about. To me they do have a candid fashion almost punk look to them.

Nellie is just a friend & model and my approach is pretty simple. I try to create a mood. We talk alot during the shoot.

Model came in hot. She's sort of an Asian version of Meagan Fox.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

I think background can be cleaner. You have edges peaking from different places. Like in last photo you have some of the background in the right side of the photo peaking out. Use all wall to use as total background. First photo, the sky and the roof of building took my attention especially with different brightness from main subject.

Obviously wasnt really going for a clean background in shot #2 haha.
And the sky ties in nicely with the blue denim in the first shot so I think its better that way.

Thanks!
