This is my favorite "person" shot that I've taken so far

Let me know what you guys think, this wasn't staged so I can't reproduce it, she was getting ready for the picture.

Camera: Nikon D600 (I'm a Canon guy but borrowed this camera + lens from a friend)
Lens: Nikon 70-200 f2.8 vrii

She's lovely, and this is a genuinely candid moment; I like the photo overall. On the other hand, the photo needs a bit more contrast, in my opinion. I wish you were somewhat closer too.

I think it is a little over exposed and with her dead center and your being too far away it kind of detracts from the picture.

@Dillan_K and @saea501, since you both have the same comment for distance, how do you suggest to frame this shot and have the same "effect"? I like the shine on the grass as well as the lit up tree directly behind her. I'd also like to remain as a full body shot as well.

Would this have been better frame?

I think it has/had potential. The following are my comments:

* Although I think the girl is exposed well, the environment is just OK. You could fix in PP. Like others said, needs some more contrast.
* I don't like the grass/shrubbery line cutting through her hips at such an angle or at all.
* Edit out the couple of "dots"/bugs that are floating in the image, mostly the one on her left side at elbow height about an arms length away from her.
* I think some traditional rule of thirds would work best here. Keep it landscape but put her on the left side of the image with open space on the right.

I'd agree.

Add contrast
Crop so she's on the left third of the frame
Remove some of the highlights in the trees to her left (our right) to remove attention from them

Dago...that third image is a nice edit. Not sure there is anything that can be done about the slanting grass line.

Dago how'd u remove those highlights? That'd be a great technique to have available!

Just to be clear the first and second are the same image, just masked to show each half compared to the original.

To get rid of the highlights I used the clone brush using content aware.
