The knife was my Uncle-in-laws. He passed. I believe it a Yarborough knife issued to Seals after they finish BUD/S Class. Sorry, I don't know much more about it. The book is A Vacation Gone South. This will be on the 3rd book.

Nice that's a pretty sweet blade and from a Seal even better. Did you ever serve yourself?

Just did some research and I believe it's a Spartan Blades difensa. Great knife Id hold on to that

We paddled camped this weekend and on the long drive home stopped at nirvana=birthplace and museum of
Colonel Sanders-inventor of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
We've eaten at KFC in Chile,S.Africa, Costa Rica, Canada, and Iceland (sadly NO KFC in Norway), and of course
here in the USA. Ironically the chicken is better in all the foreign countries.
Anyway Poof grabbed this pic of me with the colonel-
