My first paid gig

Hi, this is my legit first paid gig.

cc please. many questions for the first one...

1. it's HDR using LR, does it look HDR? I want it to look natural.
2. How do you get rid of the reflections on the glasses?

One time i did a blending technique and i shoot night in bulb mode(about 8-9mins exposure). I turned off all the lights inside to get rid of the reflections but blending is not my strength. how do you do it?

3. When there's some bright areas emitted by the sun like the ones on the walls alongside the main door, it's a good thing marketwise right? like buyers love when some sunlight comes inside?

on the second images, just say what are your thoughts about it. it's also HDR

That exterior shot is pretty nice. Would look better with the garage doors closed though.

The interior has a few distracting shadows, namely the thick horizontal shadow in the back right of the room. Can't tell if it's sunlight or an exterior light that is causing the issue, either way it's drawing my eye away from an otherwise pretty nice looking room. Also, is the color temperature a bit off? My mind wants that beam across the front of the photo to be white, but it's not. I'm sure it wasn't stark white in person either, the varying color temperatures are distracting me.

Otherwise I'd be pretty happy with both of those photos!

i'd turn off the tv in the first one...not sure if a circular polarizer would help get rid of those reflections or not...also for the 2nd one, i'd try and take a photo without someone on the patio next time

The owner told me the realtor told her the tv turned on looks good in the market. I even just photoshopped it to look good.

I would try a polarizer next time.

The interior shot is a bit too warm, from what I can tell. When I use the level tool midgray eyedropper in Photoshop on the vase, I get more neutral colors and the green walls pop a bit more, with a bit more contrast between the white accents and the colored walls.

Other than white balance, I really like those!

1. yah the horizontal shadows was casted by the sun for sure. i think i shot the room too early.

2. the color is a bit warm than the actual color but the owner wants it that way.

3. Reflection problem. Maybe I will try the same HDR technique but I will shoot one to expose for the outside while turning off any interior lights and blend it in photoshop.

I have no criticism of the photos. My question to you is how much time are you spending on each one? You're going to need to deliver any where between 30 and 70 photos to the client for the MLS while making a profit and a living with all of the production and post-production work.

i think once i nail down on how to shoot(knows the dos and don't), everything's gonna be quick since it's just a matter of HDR processing. Mike Kelly's technique is the more time consuming. he's shooting multiple exposures with strobe and blending/masking in photoshop.

Most MLS are limited to 25 photos. Unless the house is really big I rarely ever deliver more than 25. Typically 5-6 exterior, majority of interior is split between living/kitchen/dining and master bed/bath. Other rooms rarely have anything of interest that warrants more than 1 photo just say: "Yup, there's a room there."

This one needs some upright Transform, the porch is really leaning due to distortion. If you use Lightroom it's a simple, single click. Vertical usually does it for me on Exteriors. Interiors can be a bit trickier..

Fans always off. Reflections on windows are less of a problem when you shoot interior during the day. They'll be hard to get rid of in evening interior shots. Maybe somebody else has experience with that. I do all my interiors during the day...
