It doesn't help when my MIL keeps saying "I don't think I have much longer"!

Tell her "keep it up and you won't!"

Ella's first ponytail. We tried a barrette a few times but she pulled it right out. 2 days in a row now, she has left the ponytail alone.

I love it when kids discover new things like that. When Elizabeth finally grew enough hair to do pigtails we put her hair up and showed her in the bathroom mirror. She was entranced! Just kept turning from side to side to look at them, playing with them, pointing in the mirror, and grinning the whole time. From then on, she wanted her hair done up.
My sister usually wears her hair down, but I almost always have mine up. When Lizzy would come over the first thing she would ask was if she could "have a pony too". Now that she's 8 she chooses what she wants to do with her hair, but she loves to have it done fancy. I curled Karen's hair for a wedding a few months back, and then I had to curl Lizzy's too.

I sat Ella in front of the mirror when I put her pony in & she kept touching & grinning at me. I asked her if she liked it and she replied "Like it."

Life is so busy and good. Have a wedding at our home in August. Picture time! Can't wait.

Other than that, I've decided that my 5D2 is still a lot more useful than my SL1, but my SL1's built in flash is more useful than my 5D2 with a flash, but because, it is easier to shoot in the little green box on short notice.

So quiet lately...... Anybody have plans for the 4th? We will do our annual BBQ/pool party at my sisters. My son will be there but my girls are going off to other friend's homes. Then next Thursday we fly out for our trip to Niagara Falls. It will be short, only 5 days but there isn't much else we want to do there and Skip gets tired fairly easily so I don't want to over-do it.

On a photography note; I try to take July off from clients but I did book one mom for a newborn shoot due July 19th. And I have a pregnancy shoot the next week but only 2 for the month so it will be like a vacation for me. I have done 17 shoots since May 7th!

Here is one from Tuesday. He is 4 weeks old which is too old for a true newborn shoot but the mom had them done by somebody else who was just trying to get into the business and did a pretty poor job (I saw them). The grandmother was so upset & when she was telling someone else about the pictures, my name came up & one thing led to another. So baby came on Tuesday and fussed & fussed for 95 minutes. Then I just plunked him into a bucket, rubbed his forehead & he fell asleep. Yesterday when the mom & grandma came to see the pictures, they actually cried & told me how excited they were to get these. I printed up three 8x10's right there & they left happy so that is what my job is all about.:-)

No plans for the 4th, it's a work day for me. Off work today for the 1st, but I'm spending the day recovering. I've been dealing with heat exhaustion and all that goes with it for about two weeks now. Today I slept in for a very long time, then still didn't get out of bed until I was really awake. Now I'm watching TV. If I feel up to it, I'll go to the fireworks tonight.

I'm keeping next weekend open for Niagara Falls. :)

Yay, Melody! We are going on the boat tour at night to watch the falls light up. Are you interested? If so, I will get you the info.

Yes, definitely! The falls are gorgeous at night!!

I'm figuring that I'll drive up for Saturday. At the moment I'd love to stay overnight, but I'm debating the cost of a hotel room.

We are going on the 9:30 pm trip on July 9. I don't know if that will be too late for you but it would be awesome if you could go.

I spent some time looking at prices. I think I can grab a motel room for the night, not like I need anything fancy, and I get discounts at a few places. It's a 240 km (150 mi) drive each way, so I wouldn't be able to stay late otherwise.

There is so many things to do and see in the area and I'm not one to rush about and barely look at the sights.

Is Suzy going to be able to join us? :) Hope so!

That sounds great! Just for your information we are staying at the Wyndam Falls View hotel. I will message Suzie & see if she wants to come up for the weekend. She is always so busy it might do her good to escape for a couple of days.
