Rather disappointing sky at the beach. Sunny and hot in the city of Orange. Drive 15 miles to Laguna Beach, and poopy clouds. At least some broken clouds would have been nice.

I asked her dad to jump in for a tender moment.

I like the lighting ratio in the first 2 the best. Plain white dress would be less distracting. The second is my overall favorite.

I'm accross the canal just south of Ballard, the town Seattle usurped in 1907.

Lighting is too flat, a little flash fill would have helped. Number 3 is the best of the bunch but would benefit from moving closer to the subject. About a 50% crop would be nice.

I definitely agree with the lighting and dress comments. Overcast at the beach made the lighting terrible. I asked her dad for a plain white dress and that's what he put her in.

#3 and #4 have a 1/4 CTO geled single flash on umbrella for fill. I do agree with the overall lighting. It was terrible out there with the smooth overcast clouds. I'm in an "environmental portrait" mood lately. I do have some tighter crops, but just posted the "environmental" ones. I think they work well for the location.

not bad, except the horizon runs through her head 2 out of the 4 pics. #2 is a nice shot.
