School's Out
Olympus Stylus Epic, Fuji Superia 800
Subject: inside an abandoned schoolhouse in Lando, South Carolina. I suppose any photo I took inside there also could have been used for "Breaking the Law", lol. But this one was a good excuse to go creeping around somewhere I'd been meaning to go anyway.

Vacation

Canon Elph Sport, Kodak APS 200
Subject: The dam in Fort Mill, South Carolina. When I'm working nearby I like to go there on my lunch break. This day I noticed the fisherman relaxing there without a care in the world and thought it would make a nice vacation shot.

Breaking The Law
Canon S90
Subject: That's me. Bad to the bone. Yeah, I did it. Whut? I'd do it again. I'm just that bad. No cop can catch me. And no jail could hold me anyway. ;)
IMAGE: https://c1.staticflickr.com/8/7427/27890166696_42f230582e_c.jpg

Touch of Grey
Canon S90
Subject: Okay, that's more than a "touch" of grey but after going back and forth on what my subject for this one would be (my grey Explorer, my face with my graying beard stubble, a still life involving the book Fifty Shades of Grey and some handcuffs...) I finally settled on my shiny new beautiful point-and-shoot APS Contax.

The Boys of Summer

Sony DSC-P200
Subject: Construction workers. Did some fancy editing to try to show the movement and energy around these guys. I kept wanting to get out to a baseball game to take some shots because nothing says "boys of summer" to me more than baseball, but I never got around to it.

Two more, just because I had trouble deciding and I kinda love these two shots. Forgive me!

Touch of Grey II
Canon S90
Subject: Same Contax T ix. I set a frame down flat on a table and put the camera down in the center of it so it would kind of look like it was a photo of a photo of a camera instead of just a photo of a camera. I think it might have worked a little TOO well lol.

School's Out(side)
Canon S90
Subject: Same abandoned school in SC, this time photographed from the outside.

We haven't picked the subjects for next month yet. Usually they go up a day or two before the first of the month.

And it might be too late to get ALL the topics for this month, but why not see if you have time to get one or two during the week?

Either way, we'd love to have you join us for next month!

Well done Michi. I've been struggling with some of the topics but you have given me some good ideas. Still a few days left to get the images. :-)

Nice photos Phil and Stina. I only have three for this month. First is touch of grey: had to do a negative inversion on the flip flops to get them grey.

Vacation photo is a popular destination all year round but especially in summer. On this day the visitors to the Biltmore House must have been sleeping in when we arrived at opening time. When we left two hours later it was hard to find a spot in the parking lots.

Schools out at the Caldwell County Middle College. This parking lot is always full during the school year. Growing up I always had to walk to school.

Nice shots -- the flip-flops one is particularly cool!

OK, this was a challenging, er, challenge, but I scrambled about and found something that fit, well, more or less, for each topic. Here's my list.

School's Out - I was really scraping the bottom of the bucket on this one and I only found it yesterday!

Lots of tourist's vacationing on The National Mall.

This is definitely Breaking the Law on our house...not that the cats really care....

Touch of Grey. I know, it's a Great Blue Heron, but it is still grey.

IMAGE: https://photos.smugmug.com/RandomShots/Miscellaneous/Prints/i-FxQGXXd/0/XL/2016_06%20%28207%29-XL.jpg

I was hoping to hit a Nats game while in DC, then I figured I be out on the golf course at some point, perhaps some farmers cutting hay, but I ended up with these guys from the after work softball league as my Boys of Summer.
