The announcements have now come in from vendors, and the info is on Fuji's site.

I found the lens roadmap for 2016-2017. The 23mm f/2 R WR is slated for this year and next year a 50mm f/2 R WR and 80mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro.

flippy screen. check
4K video. check
separate iso dial check
thumb joystick. check
XT-x viewfinder. check
dual SD slots. check
acros film sim. check

less expensive than x-pro2

That makes the decision pretty easy I think.

As a Fuji non user, on spec alone, how does the AF compare to the XT2?

I really like the specs on the xt-1 but never got one. I love my x100s but wish i could change the focal length.

Thought really hard about an x-pro2 when it was released but now I think this fits perfectly.

Not ready to give up the dslrs totally yet but getting pretty close.

Are you asking how the AF of Fuji's X-Pro2 and X-T2 will compare to Canon's? It's not a simple answer. There's pros and cons to both. How demanding are your AF needs? I switched from my 5d3 to just an intermediate Fuji (X-E2) after the 4.0 firmware update, because the AF improved dramatically. In some respects I think the Fuji AF is more accurate for still or slowly moving subjects. Tracking OTOH still goes to DSLRs, but the mirrorless offerings keep improving with each generation. I like that Fuji's finally adding joysticks for focus point selection.

Oh yeah. I have even less reason to leave the camera behind now, and it is measurably more discreet in public, though cell phone shooters dispute that.

I've been shooing with this X-E2 since about March shown with the 35 f/2 mounted.

Interesting to read the early impressions and in my opinion this is the Fuji camera for the masses. The X-Pro 2 certainly has its features and attractive qualities but I would venture to say that the X-T2 is the better choice and for cheaper. Sad to see that it has gone up in price $300 over the X-T1 launch, but the conspiracy theorist in me is thinking it was done for two reasons, a) obviously to increase their bottom line but b) to help protect the sales of the X-Pro 2. If Fuji released a superior camera for $400 less then the overwhelming majority would probably pick the X-T2. At $100 less they still might but at least they'll make the extra $300 with each body sale.

I try not to underexpose to this point but that is certainly some nice recovery using lightroom. Too bad I already have the X-T1 and an X-E2...I have some self control so I'll be passing but its tempting to sell the xt1 to upgrade.

The joystick is the killer feature. Sony should take note. I think I may just pick up an XT2 up for a second system when it starts shipping.
