Any 'real shoots' power consumption info/reports? Just sitting on the couch with mine on day 1 going through the menu setting the body up I've used 20% of a fully charged bat. Can't wait to get out and use it! I have a wedding in 2 weeks and this will be my primary.

Yeah, when I was sorting out all the menu options and just testing things I was quite surprised how quickly the battery seemed to get used up. I guess the rear screen takes a bit of juice so once you're happy with everything and get over the initial "poking around" then the actual battery drain should be okay. I've read elsewhere users taking crazy numbers of shots (2500+) and still having 10-20% left at the end of a long day. Guess it depends on how much glass you have to move and any associated IS usage.

Power consumption has been fine for still photos, have not ran out yet. 4k video and LV now that is a different story. That drains fairly quick, I always have another battery with me.

Upgraded to the new firmware, no issues at all on both bodies. Both Sandisk and Lexar seem to be fine. I also should add I did not have any issues with original firmware either.

The new firmware is the 1.0.2 correct? Just got mine and it has that firmware already installed.

Wonder when & where did Canon start updating the firmware?

If it was at Japan factory, which mean its over a month ago.

If it was at local warehouse, then who & how to update thousands camera?

Yes - he belongs to a neighbor . These pics are about a month old , and were shot to test the focus tracking /AI Servo of the 1Dx Mark II ..He was a perfect test subject ., although the intervals between his runs were dominated by his need to possess that soggy orange tennis ball !!

I'm getting a lot of oil splatter whenever I use the high-speed mode... I saw some mentions of the Dust-Aid wands (wet clean) earlier in the thread but any other recommendations? Thanks!

I would recommend getting a CPS subscription and just sending your camera over there once in a while -- I usually send my camera in on Monday and have it back in my hands Thursday or Friday.

I am wary of cleaning the sensor on any of my cameras myself (apart from using a rocket blower to get lint and dust off) just in case I screw it up, and I feel like $300 is not a lot to pay for peace of mind.
