Wish I knew, avaitin has both. I like the M mount version since I have the close focus adapter... the 12 does have some weaknesses such as somewhat soft edges, vignetting, and flare control... I would hope the 10 is better, and most confident it is substantially better, based on samples. Somewhat aggressive lens correction and general post process helps save the photo.

had a weird thing happen today just wondering if its happened to any one else,i was happily shooting in the park today with my youngest child and after i was done i wanted some landscapes so i swapped in the 14mm rok lens,i took an image and all was good, then turned it off and walked a bit then turned it back on for another shot,
when i used the zoom button the square started moving on its own up the screen,i magnified out and took the image and when i went to view it the cam started scrolling thru my images on its own,it wouldn't stop till went out of image view mode,i turned it off and took the battery out and waited a min then turned all on and it did it again,i turned the dial to manual mode and all started working normal again
i then turned it back to aperture and all worked fine again,
do u think the dial got turned half way or something,it freaked me out when things do things on their own, weird, has any one had a similar issue?? thanx

Look for any dirt under the buttons on your camera. To me it looks like somethings been stuck under one of the buttons and the button is now pressed all the time.

Anyone else keeping an eye on the X-T2? It's one of the prettiest cameras I've seen so far. Plus lenses are more affordable than with the Sony system. And it's 14-bit lossless or uncompressed RAW all the way, no exceptions I believe. Sadly enough though it doesn't have IBIS.

Yup, it might be the one to push me over fully. It would be nice to have just one system. I need to rent it or an X-Pro2 first though to see how much better the ISO performance is for my type of shooting.

Sony announces FE 50mm F1.4 ZA prime lens

Sony has announced its new Planar T* FE 50mm F1.4 ZA lens. This full-frame fast prime features an 11-blade aperture for circular out-of-focus highlights even as you stop down, 'Advanced Aspheric' and ED lens elements and Zeiss' T* coating. Sony says that the lens' Planar design minimizes distortion.

The lens is similar in construction to the FE 35mm F1.4. It's weather-sealed and uses Sony's Super Sonic Wave Motor for quick and quiet autofocus. A clicked aperture ring can be de-clicked if desired for smooth aperture control in video.

At a recent shooting event in San Diego, we had a chance to go hands with this fast prime (view our gallery here). Despite being a bit heavy, the lens handles beautifully. We were very impressed by sharpness: subjects placed far off-center remained sharp even wide open, despite the 42MP Sony a7R II sensor resolution. Indeed, MTF curves indicate an impressive 60% response is maintained across the frame wide open even at 40 line pairs / mm. Our initial shots also indicate that axial chromatic aberration (green and purple fringing) are very well controlled, and bokeh appears very smooth, both of which add to this lens' appeal over options like the Sony FE 55mm F1.8 ZA.

The FE 50mm F1.4 ZA lens will be available this month at a price of $1500.
