It's been a long long time since I posted anything here in the "Birds" topic, so here are a few pics as my first step of return :)

Semipalmated Sandpiper (?), shot with Sony A7rII + tamron 150-600mm.

Nice shots!!

One simple way to start to identify the little sandpipers (Peeps) is to look at their leg color. Western and Semipalmated have black legs, while Least Sandpipers have yellow legs. Yours clearly has nice yellow legs (you can't always tell if they are in the mud), so Least Sandpiper it is!! The tapered, slighty drooping bill is another (tougher) field mark, but those yellow legs are enough to call it.

No I didn't, I think I was sitting and using the A7RII's flippy screen angled upwards. But the camera was indeed just inches from the ground/water.
