20 hours. Not bad.

We had lots of rain today, and today is the day my sump pump took a dump. My luck, if nothing else, is quite consistent.

After doing my research, I picked up a spyder5 pro display calibrator. I was surprised how far off my settings were.

I see when B&H has such things on sale and am always tempted and then I remember I don't have a colour printer...

I have a color printer, but lately I've been thinking about sending some stuff out to be printed, maybe larger prints, that sort of stuff. After reading a few stories about how the image that came back didn't match what the monitor showed, I was curious. Once I calibrated my monitor, I went back and looked of some of the images I processed and they were way off, flat, dull when I view them now.
Granted my stuff isn't the greatest, but I do like most of what I've done, and started thinking about having them printed. I'll let you know how that goes if I ever get around to it :p

I gave up printing at home and use our local Costco. here else can I get access to a $90k printer with a team of people maintaining it daily and a printer profile for PS or LR? Nothing I can buy comes close in quality.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I actually get better quality from my Canon Pro-100 but at a cost. The paper and ink to print a good image makes it more expensive than Costco. I will use them for big jobs, specialty items (calendars, cards, etc.) and so on, but not for "wall art."

That said, why are we talking about photography in this thread?

I also use Costco. I assume you have to calibrate your monitor before the profiles do any good?

What I have done (a while back) is to adjust my monitor to kind of match the prints I was receiving.

That is actually a neat trick. I wondered how I would do it if I didn't have the spyder5.

Printing! We're talking about printing, not photography, sort of.

Colour correctness.
While I at the moment am experiencing colour correctnessless... or... correctnesslessness

I have also used this word play with my shoes that have no laces. I experience shoelacelessness all day at work, for example.

There, see? Nothing bout photography here... nuh uh!

It's been pretty profound in its photographylessness. Tread lightly.

OO! POPCORN!

Can we have RedVines, too?

Every day around this time, 6:30pm Central Time (Chicago), POTN seems to slow down. Is that just my connection, or is this an issue everyone enjoys?
