I have a 500mm, it wears me out wielding it.
I have a 100-400ii, probaby the best lens Canon has ever made, but in my environ
I need faster.
I keep coming back to the DOii.

No the 400 DOii is 4.63 pounds and the 100-400ii is 3.5 pounds.
The weight of the DOii is surprising since it is so squat, like a blunderbuss.
I really love the 100-400ii, I think 99% of owners do, it's just my area is 300+ days
of either clouds/rain/snow/sleet/gloom :( and I need that extra stop.

Not really the best to show how great the lens is but as per usual haven´t posted in a while so thought I´d throw these up.

Slow mover and a fast mover. Not too sure about the WB on the swallow.

I saw this guy sitting beside the road, I slammed on the brakes, grabbed my camera, fired of a burst of 5 shots and then hit the accelerator to avoid becoming the next day's news. I was amazed that all 5 shots nailed the focus. I love this lens!!!

Great series you've posted up. The Shrike is beautiful but I just love Stellar's Jays. Wish
we had them our way.

A quick couple of pics. Taken on a rainy day from the balcony before a late shift.

A Redstart. Then an Eurasian Blackcap. Both females.
