Mushrooms!

IMAGE: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/41183616/Mushrooms_darker.jpg

Setup was a bit impromptu as they were already in the dining room ready to be cooked, but luckily I had some props on hand. Lighting is a window on the left and folded piece of paper to the right.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Very rare beauties here in our climate but I love them and cooked them when they were in season while living in cooler parts of this world....mis them :)
This thread is a little picky about what is being posted here, so since this is not really food that you eat without processing, some may object to your post. And if a shot doesn't have the right quality, frowning upon may be evident too....just saying :)

None of the other boards/threads seemed relevant subject-wise, so in here it goes. They ended up fried and I had them with pelmeni and sour cream, so not worthy of a photo I'm afraid, this was as nice as they were gonna look. It's just the way mushrooms are.

I've thought of starting a thread for raw food items but haven't yet got a suitable image to start it with. It would accommodate subjects that don't fit in "Cooked and photographed in your home kitchen" because they aren't cooked. In response to discussions of image quality in the current thread, I've become reluctant to post here.

I personally don't have any issues at all and I don't know where to put similar shots. Maybe I will start a thread myself

I enjoyed this thread more when it was just food in general and not nit picky. for a long time we would post food of our meals and everyone was ok with it. suddenly it was criticized that this should be a professional food thread.

'food photography' just because it has photography in it doesn't mean it should be professional. this goes with everything else.

would the oyster pic above by DonJuanMair be considered as raw food? Lol (not making fun of your picture, I really like it)
