was a softening blur added to the image?

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

No soften blur added, just the basic corrections- temp, shadows, blacks, and skin clean up

Could just be the uploading, but at f2.2 that lens is razor sharp and face just doesn't look as sharp as I know that lens is so I was trying to determine if it was a micro adjustment thing and was looking for the plane of focus. My 85L II needed a pretty big adjustment so that is why I asked.

might be the uploading , On my 5d3 it didn't need micro adjustment so it's at 0 currently.
I've shot at 1.2 before and it's razor sharp once you nail the focus. I try not to breath and have elbows tucked in, Also depends how far your subject to lens is too

See this is my main issue with HSS mode. You power drops, a lot. Look at the sun on her feet. Do the same shot but instead use ND filter and it won't have that problem. May I ask what strobe, modifier and what power was used. Thanks.

If you use more power than the background will darker or even black, and that won't be what the OP wants :)

I don't know but I don't like sun burning skin. Either beat the sun or move the model to little shade, IMHO. The first shot is good.
