So true Kev, Ive been to both ends a few time's lol. I mean your stuff is second to non we all know that. Really its all about the light. if its working for us or not. I don't for sure try and shoot at big numbers and sometimes I just got to stop down to get the depth I need which doesn't help but the camera can get it done most of the time but you know I have to have the detail.

Where I like to be most of the time ...This is the coolest Purple Finch I have ever shot right here.

That's a beautiful picture! Male Purple finches don't begin to molt into their adult plumage until late summer or early fall of their second year so you know that bird was hatched in the spring of 2015.

Zach--C&C is welcome on my photos

Zach everything in my yard right now was hatched in the last few weeks. It is extremely easy to see the difference in the flesh. But I just looked out and the feeder's are trashed...... The bear's had young too....

Rhossili Sid? If not sure looks like it. If so did you cross to the Worm?

Spot on Phil, no I didn't get onto the worm, tide was already coming in by the time I was at that end.

Doc,
Many of us have various Lillies, but we dont all get such a neutral background. What was the background anyways?

Eastern Kingbirds

Just owned this camera for a week now and I'm really happy with it's ISO performance. I guess it's really a keeper.

It just happens to be in a big pot that my wife put besides the door to my storage building in my backyard. The storage building is painted in a light gray. I did move around until I got none of the door in the shot.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Since we haven't had a Bluejay in a couple days, here's one of my back yard buddies minding his own business Sunday morning probably considering which peanut dispenser to visit. Shortly after the Jay pic, I was intently focused on a little Black-capped Chickadee & I heard a radical flutter of wings & then a whosh.... When I looked up, I saw this hawk (one of Robert's, no doubt) sitting low on the eve of my shop about 20 feet from me.

Before I could swing the camera towards him, he flew up to the neighbors chimney & chuckled at me; having just scared all my yard birds off.... :)
