If you have the funds, pull the trigger and et the extra bodies.
Most digital I've had at one time is three. Most film simultaneously I think was seven.

Ooopppsss I think I misunderstood the title with my previous post.

The most camera bodies I've had simultaneously together at the same time is one.

I have a 1D3 for sports and a 7D for the rest.
I plan to add a FullFrame to be flexible between 1.6, 1.3 and 1.0 crop bodies.

I have Canon 5DsR and canon 7D but I lost them. Now just got the Canon 5DsR and I'm debating to get Canon 7mkII or Canon 5DmkIII for second body.

just use the 5Dsr for astro, I doubt the 6D is any better when compared at similar resolutions.

I use two 5D Mark III's with Grips.
I have also two 7D's that get used very sparingly.
In the closet I have a 40D and my old friend the Rebel XTi.
And even some old film bodies as well.

6d 70d 7dii

Birding/sports: 7dii and 70d
events: 6d 7dii
Around the house:6d
Astro:6d (and 70d once I convert it)

The wife to use: 70d occasionally
My middle kid uses a Sl1

I would like a 5diii as I feel a little limited by the 6d sometimes but am waiting for 5div and 6dii to see what features are present and what happens to prices

My goto camera is a 7D Mk II, which I use for photographing belly dancers live and in the studio. The 7D Mk II is what I call a "universal camera," in that it's fast enough for live action, and has sufficient resolution for studio use. I always have two cameras for any gig, because of the risk of failure in the field. I would prefer to have two 7D Mk II's for this, but it evolved that I got a 70D first, before the first 7D Mk II. The 70D as backup has worked well, and it's definitely more suited for video applications.

Before that, I used a pair of 7D's. Before that I used to use a pair of 1D Mk III's as main live cameras, with 1Ds Mark II as the studio camera. I still have all these cameras, except one of the 1D Mark III's has a cracked LCD screen. These cameras are still of utility in certain applications. But the late-modern feature sets and generally stronger capabilities of the 7D Mk II are too compelling to ignore. Also, while I loved my 1D-series cameras, I no longer enjoy the carry weight to use them.

EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS | EF-S 50-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II | EF 70-200mm f/4L |
EF 135mm f/2L | EF 100mm f/2 | EF 85mm f/1.8 | EF 50mm f/1.2L | EF 35mm f/1.4L

I'm at 4, 2 used currently, and 2 retired. Thinking about converting an older 7d to IR, and maybe trying it without an AA filter.

Canon: 7D2, 7D, 60D, T2i... Minolta film: X-700, XD-11, XD-11, SRT201... Other film: Praktica something or other.

The 7D2 and 7D are my main cameras and the other Canon bodies are backups in case I ever need to send something off for repair.

All the old film stuff is sitting up in the attic rotting away, never to be used again...

I have a 7DII and a 5DIII. The 7D currently gets more use, as I have become more interested in birds and wildlife over landscape. I sometimes use the 5D with a shorter lens for bigger / closer creatures.

I still have a retired Canon AE1-P, which I bought second hand, that gave me years of faithful service, plus a retired Nikon D70S.
