question regarding the 80d,, in video ,, does auto ISO work?

i just saw a video saying it doesnt .. but i'm not sure if they mean it doesnt work combined with shutter priority .. or just at all ..

would be odd since even my t4i does auto iso in video

Good question...I looked through the manual and didn't find anything specified.

So I called Canon and the support guy said you'd do it just like sill photos. i.e., put the camera in manual mode; select the shutter speed and f stop and set the ISO to "auto"...according to him it should work fine. Makes sense to me.

I just upgraded from the 70D. Took this from a Kayak on a lake in Maine with the Sigma 120-300... So far so good on the upgrade. Feels just like the 70D did. I had to shoot jpg because I haven't upgraded LR to handle the raw files of the 80D.

Just placed my order for one! Its heartbreaking my local camera shop didnt have any on stock. Should have known since they are heavy into nikon. Best buy didn't carry it, and costco only sold a version of the kit with 2 garbage lenses. So amazon it is, as usual. But on a positive note it gets delivered monday, which is my birthday so thats cool!

Well mine came in today! Got off work early since you can't pour concrete in the rain. Aaaaaannndddd....it's been raining ALL DAY! Go figure. New toy and can't get out with it. Well I could, I guess since it is weather sealed. But, none of my lenses are. So anyway, I just took some shots of our cats, a few of my daughter all basically snap shots and none turned out all that great. While just playing around I came up with the skull reflection thing. Which turned out really well despite being 12800 ISO. Though I did do quite a heavy amount of NR, more than I normally do. And converted to BW. Hopefully I can get out and shoot in the coming days.

The noise seems fairly well controlled. On par, at least, with the 7DmkII. It's cleanable without losing to much detail.

Cat told me "Oh you got a new camera? Great, now get it out of my face!"

could be the lenses, the shooting style, the settings, etc. Mine are not soft. But I use an 80D and Sigma 18-35 & 50-100 1.8 Art lenses.

likely user error in my case. Or the lenses as stated above. I don't have any super high end glass.
