It seems very stable as shown in my shot with the FE 85 f1.4 GM lens mounted on my a7rII. https://www.bhphotovideo.com …ter_Mini_Tripod_with.html ![]() Charlie wrote in post #18091848 looks very nice gene, I'de probably go that route as well, since it costs a whole lot less. Basically, when I bought the manfrotto, they were pretty much the only one to make that sort of thing, nowadays, there are lots of options. I continue to use my lightweight sock bean bag for those limited uses, does portraits and landscape orientations with ease. Thanks Gene / Charlie. On amazon UK both tripods are about the same price i.e. more expensive than the states! Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

They invented the table tripod (at least I think they did), so I'de give them the benefit over all others TBH. Is the larger Manfrotto you mentioned all metal? or was that Genes one? yes, it was all metal, hence the hefty feeling. The newer pixi looks like it has some advantages as well, like the button. Gimmicky for a large tripod, but for what it will be used for, might just work with a smaller setup. If I were to buy another one of those gadgets, I'de probably get the pixi as well, since my original was bought for a DSLR, a slightly smaller item for the A7's would be acceptable. AnnieMacD Oops, me again More info | Aug 10, 2016 17:04 | #21958 xpfloyd wrote in post #18091773 Can anyone recommend a sturdy and reasonably cheap pocket/table tripod? (Small, cheap and sturdy - that's probably not possible now I think about it). I know some use the RRS pocket pod but that's not available in the UK and regardless RRS is expensive. Any other options? Eddie, I've got both the Manfrotto that Charlie mentioned and the Cullman Copter that Gene uses. The Manfrotto weighs just over 170grams and the Cullman 285g. They are both very stable and easily support a Canon 6D with 24-70 f/4 lens. I take either one up the hills. The Manfrotto is very small and low to the ground (or table) but I've taken many LE waterfall photos with it balanced on my backpack!
