(posted in 'motorsports' section as well

Revisiting a few shots from 2014 and came across these - been a biker most of my life and this has to be one of the 'oddest' crashes as the forks have just come apart.

Zoomed in a bit.

Imagine being a luckless rodent and looking up for the last time to see this bearing down on you!

This Eagle Owl (called Wingnut) is a captive bird, part of the birds of prey display at Adventure Valley, Durham, England:

Really nice capture, I have a similar shot from the hawk conservancy a few years ago but taken with the 300. tricky to nail but when you do they are awesome! Bravo sire

I'm not a big fan of Kyle but that's a nice shot.

Things just pop with this lens!

I brought it out to one of my favorite annual car shows, as kind of an experiment (I was seriously wondering if it would be worth hauling it around) along with my 24-70 f/2.8, and a couple of other shorter, wider lenses. Most of my best shots were with this one.

North America and Pelican Nebulae

this was a serious0 challenge for me, shot in the 'burbs in my backyard (light pollution orange zone), the nebulae was quite low in the sky, moon high up in the sky (waxing gibbous 66%)

came out pretty decent :)

I went out thinking of using the 200-400. . . . went back to the car and put the 'ole faithful' set up back on - seriously people, if you do not own this lens yet, start saving as you are so missing out.

Our (clubs) first visit to Thruxton (UK), limited photo areas but on the whole a pretty nice circuit. wouldn't say it was hot but even my sweat was sweating lol. Few all with the 1DX, 70-200 2.8 mkII and mkIII 1.4 extender

Really hard to pick photo's to post up as small they just look 'meh' but full screen etc they are completely different.

#1 Toyota Supra 3ltr, being chased by a 2ltr mk1 escort being hounded by a . . . . 6.2ltr morris minor

#2 Seat 'on it'

IMAGE: https://photos.smugmug.com/ClassicSportsCarClubCSCC/CSCC-2016/CSCC-Thruxton-14-Aug-16/i-bbMDZV3/0/L/T%2014-08-16%20%201266-L.jpg

#3 so what are the chances of getting 2 cars almost perfectly colour coordinated with the circuit they are racing at?

Nice shot! Can you share how many frames and what tracking hardware you used?

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
