Just thought I would join in the discussion.

I just ordered a M2 with the 22mm, 18-55, Adapter and Flash.

I currently have a 5DII with an eye on getting the 5DIV when it comes, and a 7DII and a variety of good lenses.

A year ago, I decided I needed a small walkaround camera for when I travel, and when I want to go light. So after a lot of looking around I settled on a Panasonic LX100. Great little camera, super sharp and a boatload of features. But I found personally I did not like how people looked at higher ISO's, skin looked kinda waxy and the noise was not "good" noise. Awesome Macro though. These are just my opinions. So I sold it while it was still worth money and just used my 5DII with a 40mm pancake as my "small"camera. Then the it stopped powering up and now only powers up with the grip, which does not make it a very small solution.

For some reason, the Canon M cameras completely escaped my attention. I think mainly because I narrowed my preferences to needing a viewfinder, but also a camera shop guy told me they are really slow.

My wife wanted to get me something for my Birthday, so I started looking into small cameras again.

I decided on the M2 from an Asian ebay seller. Mainly because it is cheap and for me, the tilt screen and extra resolution was not worth the extra money.

I found this thread and very happy with my decision based on the shots you guys are getting.

I had a 650D (I understand it is the same sensor), I always really liked the images I got from that. I mainly shoot raw but I actually really liked the way that 650 looked when shot in JPG on a cloudy day with the expose comp dialed down 2/3s of a stop.

I am actually a bit annoyed at myself for not finding it sooner as I am pretty sure I would have skipped getting the Panasonic if I was aware of the benefits of the Canon M's.

I like the idea of controlling the camera from a phone. I did that a bit with the panasonic and got some good candid street photography.

I look forward to being part of the M club, and will post some images when I get it.

A little storm cell moved into my backyard tonight, brought some interesting structures, color and quite a bit of lightning. Did a quick panorama with the EOS-M & 22mm before going inside to avoid tempting that lightning.
