Awesome portrait Jeff. Love the new feathers.
I see Ed got a J too. I must not be living right! Ha!

I actually had to shut down all the feeders, way way too many rodents, even more than I and the hawks could take care of. I'll leave them down and month and restart.

Ya I hear ya, they can be a pain, The Grackle is just as bad. But I have bunches of jay's and they are mostly all use to the guy with the camera. I got this guy to touch my hand last fall with the peanuts

I have some newly fledged jays too as well as the regulars. They never get used to me, though.

IF you want to see some great egrets, try Florida. They're everywhere. Probably my favorite bird to photograph, especially in breeding plumage. White is a challenge keeping the highlights and all, but I am getting the hang of it.

lol the Rose Breasted are a very calm bird, or at least mine are, They will fly in and sit right beside you or I can walk around and they don't give it a second thought. Here's one of the many new Jay's in contrast to the adult above, very different

Thanks Pondrader. I really like them but they too are super shy....and imagine that they actually sound like a cat! Ha!
Saw a Blue -J today....he let me get to about 40 feet and them bam out of there-even had the sunflower seeds in my hand!
